ERGON offers professional G1, G2 and G3 training courses. The courses are aimed at those wishing to obtain or renew the required qualifications. Our centre will prepare you to work with the various tools and boilers used in industry. Electrical, power and gas training courses are provided in supervision and operation.  

Electrical qualifications - G1 

The training is mainly intended for people involved in the operation and supervision of equipment, networks and electrical installations, as well as the installation of photovoltaic systems. During the training, participants will learn about necessary issues which are useful at work and even in everyday life. 

The main topics during the electrical training include: 

  • electrical equipment, installations and networks below 1 kV,
  • electrical overhead line, 
  • principles for the safe use of electrical equipment, networks and installations, 
  • electric street lighting networks, 
  • generator sets with a power of more than 50 kW,
  • electrolysis equipment, 
  • equipment, installations and networks with a rated voltage of more than 1 kV,
  • construction and operation of energy equipment, installations and networks, 
  • control and protection of equipment and installations. 

Energy qualification - G2

Training in this area is intended for those involved in the supervision and/or operation of thermal installations, equipment and networks. 

The main topics during the energy training include: 

  • steam and water boilers for solid, liquid and gaseous fuels with a power output of more than 50 kW, 
  • construction and operation of energy equipment, installations and networks, 
  • heating networks and installations including ancillary equipment,
  • industrial steam and hot water consumer equipment with a power of more than 50 kW, 
  • air-conditioning ventilation and refrigeration units over 50 kW, 
  • pumps, suction units, fans and blowers with a power of more than 50 kW, 
  • compressors over 20 kW and compressed air and industrial gas installations, 
  • storage, warehousing and unloading facilities for fuels with a storage capacity equivalent to more than 100 Mg, 
  • industrial ovens over 50 kW. 

Gas qualification - G3 

Gas courses are designed for employees wishing to engage in the operation and/or supervision of gas equipment, installations and networks. 

The main topics during the gas training include: 

  • gas transmission networks with a pressure above 0.5 MPa, 
  • distribution gas networks with a pressure below 0.5 MPa, 
  • equipment for the production of gaseous fuels, gas generators, 
  • equipment for the processing and treatment of gaseous fuels, 
  • industrial consumers of gaseous fuels with a power of more than 50 kW, 
  • the distribution of gaseous fuels,
  • natural gas processing facilities, gas purification plants, 
  • liquefied petroleum gas expansion and bottling plants, 
  • providing first aid, 
  • principles for the safe use of installations, 
  • fire protection,
  • gas appliances and installations with a pressure of not more than 5 kPa, 
  • gas appliances and installations with a pressure above 5 kPa. 

Completion of the course confers eligibility to: 

  • handling,
  • maintenance, 
  • Assembly, 
  • renovation, 
  • control and measurement work. 

The aforementioned activities correspond to entitlements G1, G2 and G3. 

Exam 

G2 exam

The electrical, power and gas courses conclude with an oral examination before an SEP commission. A positive result of the examination confers entitlement to practice the profession for a period of 5 years. After the time has elapsed, the licence must be renewed. 

The participant must be at least 18 years old and have at least an elementary education when entering the training course.

Questions and Answers

How many years are electrical licences issued for?

Successful completion of the examination will confer on the participant the right to practise the profession for a period of five years from their acquisition. 

Are gas installation supervision classes taught at the centre?

Yes, at our centre we carry out supervision and operation courses for gas, electrical and energy licences. 

Does the scope of teaching include the principles of first aid?

Yes, first aid classes are taught in the curriculum. 

Can I become a network maintainer after completing the electrical course?

Yes, the licence gives you the ability to operate, maintain and also install electrical, gas and energy networks, equipment and installations.
