Permissions for overhead cranes

Using overhead cranes without prior approval is forbidden and may result in serious accidents threatening the health and life of the overhead crane and other people.

You can obtain gantry qualifications after enrolling in the gantry course and passing the exam before the committee of the Office of Technical Inspection. The Office of Technical Inspection distinguishes two categories of gantry licenses.

Categories of UDT licenses for cranes:

  • II S. - cranes, hoists and winches operated from the working level and stationary workshop cranes
  • IS - cranes, hoists and winches operated from the working level or from the cabin, and stationary workshop cranes

The IS category is higher than the II S category. They differ in the way of operating the devices - in the case of the IS category, it is also possible to operate the devices from the cabin. Persons who have obtained UDT licenses for overhead cranes also obtain licenses to operate hoists, winches and stationary workshop cranes.

UDT licenses for overhead cranes are indefinite. Therefore, a person who has been granted crane licenses does not have to renew them. They are in force both in Poland and in other countries.

If you are interested, please sign up for the crane course - the price, dates and locations are available on our website.
