Merlo telehandlers are among the machines that have advanced components, in terms of the technology used. Safety is a priority for the company, which is why most products are equipped with the advanced M CDC safety system. This informs the operator of the weight of the load being carried. When the weight is close to exceeding the loader's lifting capacity, it emits an audible signal. If the limit of the weight the machine can carry is exceeded, manoeuvres are blocked, preventing tipping over and allowing the load to be put down safely and the machine to return to work with the correct parameters.

Telescopic loader applications

All loaders, on the other hand, commonly referred to as forklifts, are essential for work on construction sites, but not only. They come in handy wherever you need to move a heavy load from place to place that a human being cannot do, such as hay bales, concrete blocks, steel structures or larger wooden components. They are also useful when you need to get into hard-to-reach places. The long boom attached to the machine also allows work where it is difficult to fit a larger machine.

Of the most popular manufacturers of this type of equipment, we can highlight:

  • Manitou,
  • Merlo,
  • Dieci,
  • Case,
  • JCB,
  • New Holland.

Each of these models has different variants and attachments, giving the device a greater range of applications. Depending on the design, there are two types of forklift models:

  • frontal - where the operator's cab is stationary, the lifting capacity varies between 1.5 and 20 tonnes and the maximum reach is 20 metres.
  • Rotary - with a swivel head so the operator's cab can rotate, allowing the boom to be repositioned 360 degrees. Lifting capacity between 3 and 5 tonnes, with a maximum outreach of 30 metres.

Training for operators

In order to be qualified to be an operator, you need to undergo a training course, offered by our company. The scope of the course is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. During the training, each participant learns about the technical data of the machine, operating information, health and safety regulations related to working with these machines and learns how to operate the loaders in practice.
The whole course is completed with an exam passed before a UDT commission, the positive result of which guarantees the receipt of a certificate authorising work with telescopic handlers. The authorisations are valid for 5 years from the date of issue.

Requirements to be met by any future operator zka to take the training and examination

You should have:

  • at least 18 years of age,
  • at least a basic education,
  • no health contraindications.

Training for maintenance workers

training as a forklift truck operator

Just as for the operator, courses for the maintenance technician consist of a theoretical and a practical part. Our training courses follow a programme approved by the UDT commission, before which an examination is then taken.

Our students:

  • learn the most important information about technical supervision,
  • familiarise themselves with the instructions and documentation of the forklift trucks,
  • on trolley-related standards and technical supervision conditions,
  • about health and safety regulations in this position,
  • learn about the construction of telehandlers,
  • learn about the operation, maintenance and cleaning plan.

Our staff will take full care of the exam and the formalities that follow. We will help you to register, pay for the exam or collect your work card.

In addition, our services include servicing. We repair and maintain all types of telehandlers.

Questions and Answers

What types of telehandlers are there?

We can divide telescopic handlers into two types. Based on their construction:
frontal and rotary. The former have a stationary operator's cab, while the latter can rotate 360 degrees, making it easier to work with the machine.

How do you become a Merlo loader operator?

As with third-party loaders, theoretical and practical training must be given and, finally, an examination before the UDT commission must be taken. A positive result guarantees your licence.

Do you offer training for conservationists?

In addition to operator training, our company also runs maintenance courses, where trainees gain knowledge and practical skills.
